How to Take a Flower Essence, and What to Expect

Flower essences are not herbal tinctures. There is no measurable plant material in the finished bottle. What they carry is the energetic pattern of the flower, and they work the way music works, by resonance rather than by force.

The simple version

  • Take four drops under the tongue, four times a day.
  • Morning and night are the two doses that matter most. Fill the other two in whenever you remember.
  • Give a single essence at least two weeks before deciding what it does for you.
  • Work with one or two at a time. More is not faster.

Make it a moment

Before you take your drops, pause for one breath and name what you are asking for. That small act of attention is what turns a dose into a practice. Many people find it helps to keep the bottle somewhere they already go: beside the kettle, on the bathroom shelf, in a coat pocket.

What change feels like

Essences rarely announce themselves. More often you notice a week later that something you would normally brace against did not require bracing. Occasionally a remedy will stir things up first, bringing an old feeling briefly to the surface so it can finish moving through. That is not the essence going wrong. Stay with it, slow down, and reach out if you would like guidance.

Healing begins with connection, and plants and people are meant to remember one another.

Our essences are preserved in brandy or vodka with vegetable glycerine. If you prefer to avoid alcohol entirely, drop your dose into a glass of water instead, or write to us and we will prepare a glycerine only bottle for you.
